Džiugas, the legendary cheese from the Baltics has a wealth of flavour and a giant reputation.  This gourmet cheese is the Lithuanian equivalent of Parmesan for the Italians and Gouda for the Dutch.  It has a golden colour, a fragrant aroma and a taste that is a perfect balance of savoury strength and fruity delicacy.  

The legend says that this cheese was first made by the giant Džiugas to celebrate his marriage.  Not surprisingly for a giant’s cheese, it is given a generous amount of time to mature and develop its distinctive flavour.  In fact it is rumoured to give strength and joy to all who eat it.
